Editor’s Note

As part of our Inside Cainex series, we’re highlighting the people shaping our vision for the future of healthcare AI. Each story offers a glimpse into the experiences, philosophies, and principles guiding how we build.

Behind every great company is someone who refuses to settle for “good enough.” For Cainex, that person is Sue Mira. After 43 years leading global operations at MiraMed, Sue continues to inspire our team with the same urgency, precision, and care that made her a legend in healthcare operations.

Redefining Operational Excellence in Healthcare

Few people can say they’ve helped shape the modern healthcare revenue cycle, but Sue Mira has spent more than four decades doing exactly that.

Over the course of her career, Sue has become a national leader in anesthesia billing and business solutions, overseeing end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) operations that have improved billing accuracy, compliance, and revenue performance for anesthesia practices and multi-specialty physician groups across the country.

Her leadership has always been defined by precision, persistence, and a deep belief in doing things the right way: faster, smarter, and better each time.

Scaling Operational Excellence

Sue’s operational vision has consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible.

In Chennai, India, she built a 5,500-person RCM organization from the ground up, transforming a single office into a multi-location operation serving hospitals and physician groups worldwide.

She established standardized workflows, rigorous quality assurance systems, and data-driven management practices that delivered consistent, high-quality results at scale.

By investing deeply in training and professional development, Sue cultivated one of the most capable and reliable teams in the industry. Her focus on leadership growth fostered a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement — one that continues to influence global healthcare operations today.

Empowering Teams Across Borders

In Manila, Philippines, Sue expanded that vision by establishing a 900-person medical coding and call center operation specializing in both inpatient and outpatient services.

By tapping into the expertise of highly skilled healthcare professionals, she built a center of excellence for coding accuracy and compliance, setting new benchmarks for quality and productivity.

She later broadened the operation to include A/R follow-up and client service functions, providing complete RCM support for U.S. healthcare clients.

Her ability to connect teams across continents created a seamless, unified workflow that blended offshore precision with onshore performance expectations, a model that many organizations have since sought to emulate.

Leading Through Action

Long before “process improvement” became an industry buzzword, Sue was already setting the standard for it.

Her relentless drive for results and bias toward action became the heartbeat of global operations.

She didn’t just manage growth; she engineered systems that sustained it, turning process discipline into a true competitive advantage.

Today, at Cainex, Sue continues to bring that same operational rigor and strategic insight, helping translate decades of RCM and anesthesia expertise into AI systems built with the precision, reliability, and performance she’s demanded throughout her career.

A Legacy of Leadership

Sue’s story is one of growth through grit, innovation born from necessity, and leadership defined by action — proof that operational excellence, when pursued with vision and discipline, can redefine the future of healthcare.
